2 Days Communist Tirana Tour Bunk' Art Mount Dajti Details

This adventure blends nature, culture, and local flavor! Explore the best of Tirana, from hidden spots to the best Raki in town. Enjoy a cable car ride up to Dajti National Park, then hike through an oak forest for stunning views. Cross the Cherry Pass between Dajti and Maja e Tujanit, with a snack break at the peak (optional). End the day with a coffee at the Dajti Panoramic Bar, offering a perfect escape from the city.

Day 1: Mountain Dajti 

Pick up at 08.00AM.  Procced to Bunk'Art 1(approx. 30 min drive)

Proceed to Dajti Mountain (approx. 10 min drive) it’s panoramic views and fresh air you’re after, an escape from the hustle and bustle of Tirana, then this Albania gift experience certainly won’t disappoint.

 We start the trip with a panoramic cable car ride to the National Park (20 min ride each way), after which we will follow a trail through the oak forest. You’ll be doing a fair bit of walking as you cross the Cherry Pass, which divides the peaks of Dajti and Maja e Tujanit, it’s nothing too strenuous (2h 50 min each way).  

Retuning to Tirana around 19.00PM. Big efforts, even bigger rewards, enjoy a cozy dinner, there's nothing better than a traditional Albanian meal. Soak in just baked bread, delicious meat and warm stews.

Return to hotel, overnight in Tirana.

Afterwards we head back to Tirana. the capital city of Albania is a modern, lively, colourful, attractive town and it has many unique and fine attractions to offer. OPTIONAL: We might visit the Bunk’Art museum Anti-Nuclear tunnel, constructed by the leader of the communist regime, Enver Hoxha for the elite of the time in case of enemy attack. … or … we start our walking tour of Tirana at the Skandebej square around 18.00. we will be introduced for a quick History of Albania. We walk through the Et’hem Bey mosque, the clock-tower, the National Art Gallery of Albania has a fund of over 4,000 works of art by Albanian and foreign authors. Of interest here are the paintings from the realist socialism period where art was one of the tools used as propaganda by the regime. Proceed with the Pyramid (mausoleum of the late communist leader Enver Hoxha, designed by his daughter). In the “Blloku” area (literally the Block) we’ll observe the memorial Check-point with 3 objects representing terror, paranoia and isolation and the former Enver Hoxha’s house in Bllok. We end the tour with a refreshment in the Sky Bar a 360-degree platform on the 20th floor of a building where the whole panorama of the city can be admired.
