Korca is considered the birthplace of Albania's literary and artistic identity and city's charm and traditions continue to reflect this heritage. Korca's urban architecture, with its Ottoman, French and Aromanian influences, wide tree-lined boulevards and ample parks provide a completely unique experience in Albania. The city's markets, monuments, mosques and churches (dating back to early Byzantine and Ottoman times) highlight the significance of this important Balkan crossroads city. We will visit the museum to see the incredible collection of Byzantine art such as icons, iconostasis, silver ecclesiastic objects etc. Literally the most ancient mosque in Albania, the Mirahori mosque is a highlight of this trip, we also walk around in the old bazaar, we might have a drink or a snack in one of the nice bars here.
After the visit in Korce, we drive to Pogradec where we take a sightseeing walk in the national park Drilon - Tushemisht where we enjoy the natural beauty and we will also unveil some highly classified state secrets ;). We take a walk in the Drilon national park, on the shores of the river and have some time to to expore and take some wonderful pictures.
